STEAM Summer Enrichment Program (Kindergarten-3rd Grade): $850 (monthly)

Kindergarten-3rd Grade STEAM Summer Enrichment Program

​Each year Children of the Sun Youth & Community Services participates in an annually curated Science & Reading Summer Enrichment Program.  The Program is in conjunction with Chicago Public Library's Summer Reading Program.  During this time children will attend at least 8 weekly field trips that correlates with in-class discussions and activities that are centered around science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM), as well as, African culture. 

​The monthly tuition is $850 which goes towards general admission into museums, transportation,  materials needed for each weekly study and our Black August Celebration.  The Summer Enrichment Program runs from mid June-August. Our Summer hours of operation are from 8am-5pm.  

Registration for our 2025 Summer Program will begin on March 3rd!

Annual Registration Fee

An annual non-refundable registration fee of $75 per child is due at the beginning of the new school year.  This fee covers the child's field trip t-shirt, school supplies and materials, sketch pad, writing journal as well as secures your child's seat for our summer program.

Please note, there is a $45 non-refundable consultation fee for our Selective Enrollment Prep Sessions.  This fee is required on or before the child's  scheduled evaluation day.

Prep Sessions & Tutoring Program

Children of the Sun Youth & Community Services' childcare programs implements a rigorous curriculum year-round.  We recognize that children enter the program at different ages and developmental stages and without any former academic exposure.  If your child will enter kindergarten in the Fall, it is highly recommended that you sign up for our Selective Enrollment (SE) Prep Sessions.  SE Prep Sessions run from September-February.  Sessions are held on Saturdays between the hours of 9am-3pm.  There are 8 individualized in-person sessions that covers reading, math and critical/logical thinking.  The duration of each session is an hour.

*95% of our students enrolled in COTSAC and participates in our SE Prep Sessions transitions into a classical or gifted school for Kindergarten!
